What do you need to setup a business in Germany?

You need a German residence permit which entitles you to do independent business activities.


What do you have to do?

  • First, contact the German consular representation in your country.

    Depict your request to setup your business in Dortmund and ask about your individual formalities.
     
  • At the same time, you will be informed by the “settlement team” (“Ansiedlungsteam”) of the Economic Development Dortmund (“Wirtschaftsförderung Dortmund”).

    Please take this information as support while contacing the Dortmund Foreign Affairs Office. The Foreign Affairs Office decides upon your residence permit application. Normally, you will receive the application form by the German diplomatic representation abroad and submit it to this address.
